Man this last week have been hella crazy but in a good way. For the past 7 days I’ve had something to do. But i’ll give highlights of the days i really enjoyed. It’s started on Valentine’s Day with the Players vs Family game for 4th grade St. Clement Boys team, Fudds Fundraiser on Tuesday, JLHS Boys Senior Night Wednesday, JLHS Girls Senior Night Thursday, CYO team party Friday night, Chelsea’s Christmas Gift Saturday, Wekfest Car Show Sunday, and Bowl a Thon today.
Girls Senior Night: It’s really starting to hit me how much I’ve seen this group of seniors grow to the people they’ve become. I’m very proud of each one of them especially Chelsea and Camille. They’re like my little sisters. It was a great night spent around a good atmosphere and Logan got the W against Mission that night.
Chelsea’s Christmas Gift: So on Christmas, I got Chels a key chain and said it was part one of her gift cuz the other part wouldn’t be here until mid February. At first she had that look like, UHHH WHAT THE HECK WOULD IT BE. hahahaha and I was like don’t trip. I gave her this key chain that had a lil prayer as a reminder about faith. The first Christmas gift I gave her freshmen year was a key chain with a bible verse but it got stolen =[ so i thought it was appropriate to give her a new one this year. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I made sure she didn’t have anything planned for 2/19 and talked to her mom about the gift and she was cool about it so i reminded chels of her gift. I could tell the suspense was killin her so I kept messing with her saying we were gonna watch disney on ice. Hahahaha then I said we’re watching a basketball game but didn’t tell her which one. The day of, I picked her up and she still didn’t know which game we were going to. As we drove she kept guessing if we were going to watch our friend play at sf state and I was like no, not going that way. About half way to our place she got all excited and was like ARE WE GOIN TO THE ST. MARY’S GAME!!! And I was like yup!!! They were playing University of San Diego and I was tellin her I picked this game cuz there were two former players from our league that are playing. At the game, it was a pretty cool atmosphere. We started talking about playing the next level for her and we really bonded. During half time, we went to get food and we saw Patrick Mills in the lobby. He’s currently with the Blazers and if you bought a shirt you could get an autograph so I bought one for Chels to keep as a memorable thing from that day and she even took a picture. Hahahaha. It was an overall good trip and game to see. I think this is one of the coolest gifts I’ve given someone and was happy to have sponsor/candidate, big sis/ bite size mini me day! Hahahaha
Calling all St. Anne Youth Ministry past and present people!!
Come support SAYM kids from Logan Girls Basketball Saturday Night 7pm at Washington High School. At least half the time has been or are a part of the program.
We’re playing Mission to determine home court advantage for NCS Playoffs!! We’re trying to get a huge crowd to support Logan because we know Mission will try to out cheer us and pump their players so we gotta come and out do them!
Hit me up for details. I know some people are trying to make it like Logan has a “Sixth Man” cheering section. Spread the word!!
I had so much fun at our game today. This is our second year having our Players vs Family game. We’ve added a potluck to it this year which was nice.
Each kid was able to play a lot. The family team did their thing but players won with some help.
In one of the sets, we had only 3 players and the family team was trying to figure out what’s up. Then all of a sudden Matt and I came running onto the court in our matching uniforms with the players!! We got all these cheers from the moms and kids. Hahaha! Auntie said it was like Space Jam!! I was hella laughing when she told me that.
We ended the night with coaches playing the dads and eating hella food. I was telling Matt how much I felt like a kid because i was in uniform and got food after our game.
I’m sad my boys season came to an end but I’m very happy to see that they’ve grown as individuals and a team on and off the court.
“Looking back on what I said all those years ago, all the hopes and dreams I had, I’ve come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I’m a failure. The important thing is not to be bitter over life’s disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won’t be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it’s only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, cause most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for. Maybe you’ll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination.”—Whitey Durham- One Tree Hill (via quote-book)
